The San Diego Bar Association opined that California attorneys may outsource legal services work but only if the attorneys have sufficient knowledge to supervise the outsourced work properly and make sure the outsourcing does not compromise the duties that the attorneys owe to their clients. Based on the extent and nature of the work, this may require notice to the client of the decision to outsource.
